An illustrated talk on Zoom by Chiara Fanti
This month you can visit Italy from the comfort of home, by joining us on Zoom for an illustrated talk about Siena by local guide Chiara Fanti.

Siena is famous for the Palio di Siena, a traditional bareback horse race around the Piazza del Campo held twice a year.
About the Virtual Tour
Chiara will take us on a virtual tour of a city of medieval pilgrims, castles and cathedrals, art and architecture. She will introduce us to the products of local artisans: Siena is the home of Nobile and Brunello wines and Pecorino cheese. We will hear about the pasta mill, and imagine the taste of the beer of local brewers, and the flavourful Tuscan olive oil! We will hear about the Tuscan way of life, and maybe learn a little local dialect.

About Our Guide
Chiara Fanti decided at an early age that being a tour guide is the best job in the world. She is a native of Tuscany, where her father produces olive oil, and she is an enthusiastic tour guide for Siena. She describes herself as ‘born and raised under the Tuscan sun, eating my nonna’s pici pasta, my dad’s olive oil, and spending my Sundays strolling around fortified towns and castles’.
As a Christmas gift this meeting will be free to all our current members. Look out for the link to join the meeting on the next ‘Friends’ Email Newsletter.
** Please join us on Zoom at 7.15pm for the 7.30pm start**
