A Christmas Musical Celebration

with the Chichester University Big Band

Thursday, 11 December 2025

An evening of Big Band Music – From Sinatra to Miller, and everything in between! But it wouldn’t be Christmas without a few Christmas Tunes thrown in for good measure, so join us in entering into the seasonal spirit with a lively and versatile performance by Chichester University’s Big Band.

The Friends of Ravenna has a long and happy relationship with the University of Chichester Conservatoire with previous Christmas Concerts in 2021 and 2023, and supporting musical student exchanges between the two cities, so it is a special pleasure to welcome the Big Band Ensemble to entertain us in the festive season.

The Ensemble is made up of students not only from The University of Chichester Conservatoire but across the campus for those interested in Jazz and Big Band music.
They will be playing everything from the ever-popular tunes of Frank Sinatra and Glenn Miller, to those that are a little less well known. Some of their players are true “jazzers”, whereas others are classically trained musicians aiming to broaden their musical horizons. This evening’s programme will feature Big Band favourites such as New York New York, Moonlight Serenade and Pennsylvania 65000, as well as a light sprinkling of Christmas Cheer.

The event will commence at 7:30pm at

Assembly Room, Council House, North Street, Chichester
