An Illustrated Talk
by Sarah Quill
Tuesday 25th April 2017 at 7.30pm
The Assembly Room, Council House
North Street, Chichester
Members £9.00 Non members £10.00
For more than 40 years Sarah Quill has been photographing the architecture and daily life of Venice, creating a unique and ever-growing photographic archive. Sarah’s illustrated talk will show some of the changes that have taken place in Venice since she began photographing the city in the 1970s.
A trustee of the Venice in Peril Fund, Sarah has worked between Venice and London for many years to create a photograph archive of Venetian architecture, environment and daily life. She has been a freelance photographer since 1971 when she began her photographic documentation of Venice. Working as a stills photographer Sarah took set photographs for feature films including Wagner (1982), A Room with a View (1985) and The Orchid House (1991). Her book, Ruskin’s Venice:The Stones Revisited, has recently been published in a new edition.
